Arrow Salt pan workers stand up for girls’ education
Generations of families have worked in the desert salt pans. They are not just economically backward, but also socially so – the upper class are the traders, and the lower class are the laborers. Salt pan workers should make around 70 rupees (minimum wage of approximately $1.50) a day, but in most cases they are paid less.
